DANYLO HALYTSKYS CITY!
Ancient
Halych is unique historic and archaeological
memorial sight of all Ukrainian and world value.
Unlike other cities of Ukraine, where a cultural
layer of past years already almost fully destroyed
by modern buildings underground communications,
princely Halych yet keeps treasures of material
culture.
Taking into consideration the national role of
Halych foundation and confimation in becoming and
claim of the Ukrainian state system in 1994 Decree
of President of Ukraine in town creates the National
preserve National Reserve "Davniy Halych", the
scientists of which are presently engaged in the
exposure, research, restoration, maintainance and
popularization of cultural legacy of ancient Halych.
Nowadays on the protected territories of the city
and in its environment (area over 80 square
kilometers) concentrated almost 300 sights of
preanalistic and annalistic history of Halych as the
capital centre in the past Halych – Volyn
Principality. Presently they are under the guard of
the state.
The ancient city of Halych today is a small district
center on Precarpathian region, which is located on
a route Lviv is Ivano-Francivsk, for a 115 km from
Lvov and a 25 km from Ivano-Francivsk. Almost six
thousand inhabitants lives in town. Five industrial
enterprises are working, mainly building and
processing industries. Except of industrial
enterprises, on the territory of the town there is
Halychyna state National forest Park, district
network of communication, private enterprise „
Halych Holding”
54 persons of entrepreneurial activity work in the
field of trade. In Halych there are two products
wholesale. Trade of petrol goods is provided by
Ivano-Frankivskugetrol gods, commodity turnover of
which makes over 10 million UAH on a year. Presently
two secondary schools of the 1-3rd
degrees, musical, artistically-handicraft schools,
and also two kindergardens, operate on territory of
city. It is in town the Folk house and club, four
libraries. In Halych there is a district hospital
and policlinic, three pharmacies and three
pharmacies booths.
From 1997 year Halych is included in to the
Association of small cities of Ukraine, which united
in the composition 18 cities and towns of our state,
and closely co-operate in the brunch of budgetary
legislation, socio-economic development,
environmental protection and others like that.
The joint meeting of representatives of small cities
of Western Ukraine State tourist administration of
Ukraine and Experimental institute took place in
2002 „Triangle” (RTI), where the Agreement about
collaboration in industry of socio-economic
development of small cities of Western Ukraine and
development of tourism and handicrafts is signed.

Halych advice and evidently made sure in that Halych
is a glorious town, city with the heroic the past
which constantly reminds everyone that our state
System here at one time began here!
And I as the leader of the city authority have an
opportunity, once again to invite all of you to
Halych, in the glorious city of the king Danylo
Halytsky.
